This place has that old-school French rudeness and snobbery that mostly disappeared 20 years ago. If that wasn’t bad enough, they have a whopping one beer on tap, with cheap house liquor. Do yourself a favor: just ride or drive the 2km to the summit for a much better view (with 360 view), nice and friendly service, a variety of beers, food, and a great little shop.
This has to be one of the best value meals I have had anywhere. Hearty soup, melon and ham, roast meat with various fried veg, desert and coffee for 16 euros. Add to that well cooked and tasty food the views (it is near the summit of Col d'Aubisque) from terrace and balcony and this is a wonderful place to stop for lunch. Ring ahead to reserve, all spaces tend to be full quite quickly: we arrived at 12:40 and saw 6 others turned away soon afterwards.
Mandatory reservation in this restaurant overlooking the valley on the road to the col d'Aubisque. The boss is chichis-free and welcomes you as home with a simple but tasteful cuisine. the dishes are made home and the unique menu to be copied in, including a scrub, a meat dish and a dessert. the quantities are adapted and the seasonings to fall the small plus, the wild vulture balet from the splendid terrace!
Magic location: a breathtaking panorama. a simple but warm family kitchen. The welcome of the boss is very nice, knowing on the fingertips his mountain. the menu has: soup, country ham melon, pork roast Provencal tomatoes and small peas, apricot pie. this step towards the neck of the Aubisque is a feast for the eyes and the stomach.
