Bidra med feedbackBE AWARE if you are a foreigner! They will use bait and switch technique. I 'm so sad since the older lady that served us was so friendly and caring until I called her out. What happened was... When we first ordered she gave us a menu with prices that are different than the prices on our bill. When I called her out she was like.. oh that was supposed to be an old menu. I 'm like ok but why did you give it to me in the first place. Our menu had prices with a covered sticker on it that I found was odd so I observed a local couple next to us when they were seated they weren 't given a menu with a sticker price like ours, that was what made me want to double check my bill. I would certainly not return, they had way too much cheese and rice on their seafood anyway. I was originally going to support them since the service was good, until I found out I was taken advantage of for being a foreigner. What a sad day. My friend and I both left with a bad taste in our mouth.
Don't be afraid from the rather weird entrance to the restaurant, right by Metro Sevilla, with it's giant caldrons of food. It looks tiny, but in the back corner there are stairs leading up. The owner, so successful at his business of selling fresh sea food at affordable prices, has annexed half the apartments in the building above him, and converted them all into what is a massive sea food restaurant that looks tiny from the street. Walking in and then through the laberintine network of apartments-turned-dining rooms is part of the fun of visiting. I have been here at least 20 times. My personal favorite is pulpo a la diabla, a spicy octopus dish, but most are fans of the paella and the shrimp cocktai. Also excellent are the seafood empanadas, and the ample glasses of tequila. It is only open until about 7 PM or so. Very convenient for people staying in the Zona Rosa or exploring the Roma Norte/Condesa/Parque Chapultepepc area.
You want to eat fresh fish and seafood in Mexico City? This is the place! Not fancy at all and not trendy but a place with really good and fresh seafood and fish and at affordable prices. I recommend the ceviche and the sopas de jaiba. Fried gambas with garlic are delicious too. Portions are huge. The service is OK but not more than OK. I don't recommend the desserts.
True local Mexican place with excellent seafood and very good people who work there. Portions are big. Their seafood soup is one of the best I ever tried and I tried many. Portions are large and seafood is fresh and succulent.
Do not be shocked about the entrance, let me explain. This restaurant is basically a bunch of apartments with no furniture other than tables where you can sit and enjoy a good meal. Three floors of seafood restaurants! There is no way to pic a favorite dish, they have shrimps, oysters, all kinds of fish, paella etc. Also the beer is awesome. You should go. Period
