Bidra med feedbackFor starters I haven't been there since it was the Belvidere Diner and at first look they really fixed the place up nice. We ordered pot stickers while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The app came out quickly and was very tasty but the sauce was very spicy that came with it. We all ordered dinner entrees and one lamb special. The veggie of the day we were told was asparagus. Each one came with a soup or salad. The soups came out quickly but then we waited over 15min for the salads to come out. The server never came over to say anything to us about any delays or even to refill drinks or apologize for the wait. When the salads finally came the entrees followed a couple minutes after. Half the entrees that came with veggies didn't have asparagus but was broccoli rabe. When I asked the server about the veg of the day he was confused as well that it wasn't asparagus and the cooks change it sometimes without telling anyone. Not the way I would want my restaurant to operate at all and im sympathetic to the industry having over 10 yrs experience but this whole experience was a little much. Overall the food was decent but priced quite higher than average for what you get and left mildly annoyed from all the waiting and confusion. Im hoping this experience was due to the holiday struggles most places face nowadays.
The tuna club tasted terrible, and there was no bacon on the club. The Cobb salad had ugly grey overcooked hard-boiled eggs and not enough blue cheese. Besides, it took over 1 hour to get our lunch.
Ever since they started serving breakfast, many locals stop in. Service is great, food very good and the extended menu is a good idea. You should stop in.
My husband is the burger person and he said his Flavorz Burger was the best he's had!! Their beef barley soup was as good as mine......if I say so myself! We will return!
I've only been here two times since they remodeled. Same owners as when it was the Belvidere diner. Family-owned. The place looks great on the inside, clean fresh and modern. The staff is attentive and friendly. The menu is a limited assortment of diner type fare. Maybe a step up. There is a full bar. Both times I went, I ordered a turkey club sandwich and fries. They have hot sandwiches too. And hot lunch/dinner plates. I really didn't pay attention to the entrees so I can't comment. The sandwich was good and filling. The fries were steak fry size, very very crispy. Maybe the fries were precooked, then thrown in the deep fryer upon serving. I only say that because they are almost overcooked level crispy. I like that a lot in these steak fries, so that's a plus. I want to say it was $14.50 for a turkey club sandwich and fries plate. A little steep for what it is. Overall I would come back. I have come back. I will come back. Try it out.
