Mayo Auction was absolutely wonderful helping me sell my parents' home! It was in need of many repairs and not eligible for a traditional home loan. Mayo Auction sold the house for more than 70% what a realty company offered me as a purchase price. It was worth the effort to go with Mayo Auction. They made everything so easy and kept me updated every step of the process. Robert Mayo was fantastic during this entire process. Thank you, Mayo Auction!
Because of an emergency I was unable to pickup my items at the scheduled time. Mayo held the items for four days until I was able to make a new pickup schedule. Always great customer service.
I have used Mayo more than once and they really have their act together! Very professional and smooth process. At first I didn't understand why I had to wait to bring my things in for auction, but after I experienced how the auction process worked, I completely understood.I was also really surprised at the good prices they got for my things! I will be using them again!
At a glance, Mayo shows great reviews because all the poor reviews are hidden on Google. Click the 'Sort by ' Lowest option to get the other reviews to appear.Warning to Sellers and Buyers:For Sellers Be aware of how lots are pictured and described for items the auction workers or their acquaintances want to bid on. For example, my mother 's purses were pictured in a manner as to not show any of the designer names or logos and no mention of the designer names in the description. In the pictures, a Coach bag was under a generic one, unable to be seen. The Dooney the Liz Claiborne pebble leather purses were placed backwards on the floor with the logos hidden. Yet, closeup photos were taken of other non designer ones. Either this was done intentionally or the auctioneer did not have the expertise to identify the designer handbags. For Buyers On preview day, be careful showing too much interest in items in the presence of the auction workers or the sellers. The sellers are allowed to drive up bids, because Mayo will let them renege if they end up being highest bidder on items they don 't actually want. I witnessed this first hand when the highest bidder on items at the end of the auction was the seller 's bid#, but changed a few days later on multiple items that they were driving the bids up on but didn 't actually buy.Take SCREENSHOTS of everything you bid on. Pictures get randomly removed from listings and items shown in the photos may have disappeared by the time you pick up. I had several items I specifically wanted based on the pictures, end up missing from one of those contents of type lots. Other lots had missing items also but the main Mayo lady was unconcerned because I had signed the paper when I was told to, before I 'd retrieved all the items. So, DO NOT BE PRESSURED INTO SIGNING until you have verified every single item is in your possession. Don 't just take their word for it, if they 've gather the items tell you to sign.
