Cake By The Lake Bakery - Belton

I made cake reservations weeks in advance for a birthday event. I sent a picture of what I wanted to the number that was provided by the bakery. I never got confirmation but assumed everything was good to go. I arrive at the bakery for my scheduled pick up time (1000am) and discover 2 handwritten signs on the door stating they will not be open til 1200pm. I never received an email, text or phone call about the time change. I did not receive my cake for my event within the time I needed and it is not at all what I wanted. They did not communicate that they could not do the font I requested so upon arrival I see the words I wanted printed on “edible paper”. It looks rushed and sloppy. This was a waste of time, energy and money.

Ordered one of their large pies for a family gathering. Oh my, it was one of the best I have ever eaten! Will definitely be back. Other family members love them as well. Love supporting my local mom and pop businesses!

Oh my goodness! If you have never been to Cakes by the Lake I encourage you do make a trip there!! They have some of the best scones I 've ever had! Everytime I go in there, I just ask them to start a box because there are so many yummy things that I end up getting nearly one of everything!!

Was not a fan of the service, felt ignored. Cupcakes were dense, had chunks in them

Called to get information the girl that answered the phone couldn’t answer the simplest questions and told me to wait till the owner came in at 2 and then wasn’t sure what time the store closed.
