Scotchies - Belmopan

The menu changes when it comes to special and seasonal vegetables and fruits. most foods are spicy as it is Jamaican style. the ambiente is wonderful in the open and in the cabin. the bathrooms are clean. it is a real outdoor experience with finger lick eating!

The jerked chicken is amazing and the festival is on point!

I definitely love the ambiance and i can say I enjoyed my food. It was scrumptious and warm. The set up is just breathtaking. Customer service can improve. Overall, I can say I shall return.

I visited at a quiet period on a Sunday. The place has real potential to be nice. The decor and gardens were lovely. The food was the problem. I ordered a spicy chicken burger. Expecting a breast of chicken with a Jamaican jerk sauce. What i got was a minced chicken burger with no flavour. The bun was hard and dense. The people i dined with where also not impressed with the food. I will try again because it has such promise. But without a menu that gives quality food, it will never get more than 3 stars.

The pretty grounds were the only thing this place had going for it. I don’t know if we just sowed up at a bad time, but we were the only diners (should have been a red flag), and the girl working the register was not friendly or helpful. She seemed annoyed that we were even there. The girl who brought us our food was very nice though. My husband ordered jerk chick and I ordered jerk pork. Both arrived in a good amount of time. However, both our meals were cold, hard and dry. Nearly tasteless as well. I realized that I was shorted $10 usd change in the transaction and went up to ask for the remainder. After a lot of discussion the girl still did not give me the right change but at that point I just wanted to leave so we tipped and peaced out. To top all of this off, I woke up in the middle of the night with a terrible stomach pains and sickness. This may or may not have been caused by the food at Scotchies, but it sure doesn’t seem coincidental (this was the very first place we ate after getting off the plane). There are plenty of good restaurants in Belmopan, just drive on by this place.
