Bidra med feedbackWe capped off our night at Sunflower, which for me was the most authentic Belfast experience, a ton of 20 and 30 somethings mixed with the token dog or two. Every night needs a token dog or two Not sure it was the alcohol by this point, but I had the best drinks of my life at this bar. The Pineapple Gin Ginger Ale combo was a thing of legend. Drink to your hearts content, lads!
The ending stop along our Blefast Pub Tour, I'm glad we saved them for last, having time to sit and enjoy the ambiance. They were a small, local bar-promoted as a must-visit to see the standing cage you need to pass through upon entering. Inside, the decor is pure Irish history, meets modern Irish, meets welcome visitors. There was a local drunk at the table making prank calls to the bartenders, eliciting great conversation with a fun friendly crowd. They have unique brews, with zesty creative flavors, not only on draft but in bottles. We unfortunately were too early for the pizza, but the price of the beer was so great we had to move on to get food somewhere else. I loved our experience here! Get there before the crowds, settle in, and enjoy your time :
Almost don't want to give away the secret, but the Sunflower is by far our favourite pub in Belfast. Best prices, music, and friendly crowd. Can't recommend it enough.
This is my favourite pub in Belfast always a great friendly atmosphere and brilliant fun. The outdoor area is a total triumph and the boxing hare pizza stall is a brilliant idea and serves delicious wood fired pizzas at a very reasonable price. This place has the vibe of the john Hewitt circa 2003 Pedro really knows how to run a great bar. There is always a great selection of beers on tap and plenty of interesting entertainment. The decor is very relaxed with plenty of old bar memorabilia to look at and even an old barber chair. There are often events in the upstairs space and downstairs regularly has live music. If you're looking for the latest tunes and a fancy cocktail list then this probably isn't the place for you but if you want good beer, great craic and some laughs with your chums then the sunflower is the spot.
Unassuming little dive bar with a great back patio. Fresh Za was excellent and the New England IPA was a pleasant surprise. My friend stepped into a puddle of urine in the bathroom or else this would've sealed a 5 star rating. Chef recommends!
