We stayed from late May until mid-June. The bar and restaurant were not open. Pitches...are a good size, but open plan. Some are adjacent to wooden chalets. Noisy visitors in one of these (until or several times) and camper vanners disregarding the usual curfew' didn't make for restful nights. Two showers/washrooms were rustic and unheated cold water only in washbasins and sinks. Lavatories basic three only in lower part, one without seat. At night, automatic light lasted for only a couple of minutes difficult when one had a bout of food poisoning! Out of season maybe, but as site is listed as open facilities should be working. Also, the Stephenson Trail cuts straight through, and stick-tapping randon eurs were in the habit of gathering at and talking noisily about their plans for the day not again!
We enjoyed our night stay at Camping Chantemerle. Either stay close to the campsite and enjoy the campsite's beach and rock pools for a bit of swimming or paddling, or use it as a base to explore the local region rich in experiences for...those of you who like walking in the hills, wild swimming and more. Nicole was a great host, helping us to rent bikes a donkey and make the most of our stay.
