Bidra med feedbackThis place was amazing. The server was very friendly and handled our large group with ease. The portions are very generous and the French fries are delicious. I have no idea what other reviews are referencing when they said they were not good. Since we were a large group, we tried many of the dishes. Will definitely return if I'm back in the area.
We were driving around the Olympic Peninsula and needed some lunch. I want to give more stars for the food but I'll explain. So the wife and I ordered sandwiches and chose their homemade fries. That is the reason this place gets an average review. Now the sandwiches were great for this old cafe. I had a roast beef dip and the wife ordered a philly dip. Both came with the fries as I mentioned. And lots of them. Too many to be exact. And they weren't that great. Soft, almost too oily, and no flavor. Should have got the side salad like we saw other patrons getting. Those looked so much better and lots of veggies to include bell pepper and mushrooms. I was a bit nervous stepping into this joint. Probably cuz of the run down look. But if you are in the area and need a decent grub. It's good. Just skip the fries.
How do we get these places in Northern Virginia? Home cooked food and just great service from everyone in the restaurant! The prices are beyond reasonable! Husband ordered the hungry bear which was a omelette, toast and hash brown and I ordered half order of sausage gravy with hash and half order of French toast. Neither of us can now move to hike
This is a charming local greasy spoon. The ladies are sweet and kind. The food is delicious. It was one of the few places open before 10am on a weekday. Portions are more than generous. Pancakes are the size of a plate. The bacon was perfectly cooked- just crispy enough. The hash browns looked like they were hand riced and yummy, too. Cool old logging photos on the walls add to the local flair. If you want the speed of one of the logging trucks zooming past, may not be the stop for you. If you are looking for a little gem that others may miss, pull over and have a coffee.
Great little café on the side of the road,, their pancakes are huge, kid you not, huge!!! perfect comfort food for the Hungary traveler or worker bee:
