Bidra med feedbackAvoid this place. I have spent my life in the service industry and it is hard to believe that someone can be this evil and can stay in business. We go twice a year through Biberbach and will never interact with this facility again. Called on Thursday and booked a cabin for Sunday night. On Sunday at noon we realized that we had better time than expected, and would be much better off driving a few hours in good weather. The next morning snow ran and we hoped to avoid it; we have often hit bad weather on this route and it can be hard. I wanted to call and cancel, no answer. 2 hours later tried and conquered the owner on her cell. With zero compassion or kindness, she told me that I would pay the cancellation fee, which was 100% of the one night we had booked. I explained that we really hoped to get past the snow, and she offered to take it to a 50% fee. I accepted this although there is no disclosure of a 24-hour cancellation policy when I booked, or anywhere on their website. One question was met with an rude, cured answer. We canceled and she hung on me. When we drove past, her shield said “no emptiness” so that she obviously had no problems finally filling the room. The next day a fee on my credit card was paid for 100% of the room rate. When I asked for it and the 50% we agreed on, they said: “Can you try to be nicer” and hang on me again. I've never had such an experience. I understand that it was a tough couple of years for small businesses along the Alcan, but when I went through this area with other travelers regularly, I discovered that they have a terrible reputation. Lesson learned. Stay at 1202 Motor Inn, they are great.
Food is good, better than I was expecting. Staff is nice. They had plenty of beer and a hockey game playing in the background. Cozy.
We knew we had to check this place out. The diner-style setting is quite charming. The food, while fried and on the heavier side, was really tasty. The service added a vibrant touch to the experience. There were plenty of interesting items to purchase, including some gigantic cookies!
I didn't call the office to report the missing remotes because they were closed after 8:30 PM, and I got there after hours. The next morning, I left my key in the dropbox since the office wouldn't open until around 8:00 AM. A few days later, on April 6th, I was surprised to see a charge of $113 on my card. I called the location and spoke with the owner, who informed me that the charge was for the missing remotes, which I had never received in the first place. After explaining the situation to the owner, they agreed to refund the fees. I will await confirmation on that. On a positive note, the cabins themselves are very nice and cozy, and I have no complaints about them.
Don't expect quick service, but we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered once it arrived.
