Bidra med feedbackWe stayed at Hotel Le Saint Aubert Mont Saint Michel and this restaurant is a minute walk over a shared parking lot. The life of the menus corresponded to Le Saint Aubert literature, so it was the restaurant of this hotel. We would suspect that we arrived at the restaurant after the early morning approach, as many tables were not ready for new customers at all, and the buffet was exhausted by many of the selection of breakfast dishes and drinks. We went to the bar where a young woman made coffee and served, next to the kitchen staff she was the only waiting/serving employee in service. We asked about breakfast and we confirmed that we had a reservation about our stay at the hotel. We were told that the buffet was at the far end of the room at the lower level that we should help ourselves and select any available table. There were many tables free some had no cutlery, some had no plates, some had no cups or glasses maybe only one table had all the necessary dishes, glassware and cutlery to eat a breakfast, and this table was not where we wanted to sit (right between two other occupied tables). In this phase, it was not clear to us that you had to collect dishes, glassware and cutlery from other tables and put it on your table. Then take your plates and cups to the buffet to get your breakfast. So leave your table, for other customers arriving after you to take your cutlery etc. or deteriorate your table. A totally chaotic and idiotic way to organize a buffet style meal. We had to organize several consecutive and separate excursions with dishes, glassware and cutlery from several tables to get our breakfast and drinks. A time and movement study would point out that the restaurant should offer a stack of plates, bowls, cups, glasses and cutlery to the buffet tables. Then customers can use the food and then go to a replacement table to eat it. Easy! Breakfast was clearly average, the Croissant was poor, ingredients finally arrived from the kitchen, but we gave up the fight and saved us the aggravation for what was a bad culinary experience. The young waitress seemed to concentrate her efforts on preparing for lunch instead of helping the breakfast customers. Another customer wanted hot milk for his coffee, so we both observed amazement when she put a jug of milk in the microwave and then for a full five minutes before they call it back and take it into a cup to the customer table. Then it had to extinguish the microwave and wipe off the counter to remove over heated milk. I don't know, you can only assume that there was a complete lack of training. Just a few minutes before we arrived an older looking gentleman and began to check the checkout and the young woman continued service and preparations for the lunchtime.
Fights to find everything reasonable on Mont St Michel. This place is the last stop in front of the parking lot. They were busy with a tourist coach and we came after 2 a.m. so we were not hopeful. But they offered to do us...both pizzas for about ten euros each. They did not take too long to arrive and were absolutely delicious! I would recommend it.
The experience in this restaurant was not satisfactory at all. The service was slow and unfriendly. I saw we were an inconvenience. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we were there and that should have been a hint.
