Bidra med feedbackI did have a better experience at this location compare to another. It was fun to watch the cook and enjoy very good food made in front of me. Recommended!
My parents are big fans of Shogun, so whenever I come to visit, we usually end up eating there at some point. We always enjoy our meals at the restaurant, sitting at the large griddle tables that remind me of Benihana. I like to order dishes that are cooked right in front of us, which adds to the experience. The servers are always friendly and entertaining, although some go above and beyond in their performance. The shrimp, steak, and chicken dishes are all tasty, served with fresh vegetables and rice. The portions are generous, allowing us to take leftovers home for lunch the next day. If you're craving some delicious grilled food in the area, Shogun is a great option to satisfy your appetite.
I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but they do not have a full bar and the sushi was not great. However, the service is always excellent. My fiancé and I always get the hibachi, and this time they did it just for the two of us. The chef was very entertaining and cool. The fried rice here is amazing. Unfortunately, the sushi was poorly put together and fell apart as I was eating it, so I will stick to the hibachi. This is definitely our go-to spot for hibachi!
I am a huge fan of sushi, so when I visited Shogun Baytown, I had high hopes for a great meal. The restaurant itself had a decent decor, but it was a bit loud with the hibachi shows going on. However, the most important thing is the food, and unfortunately, it was just mediocre. I ordered the Kiri Sushi Combo to sample the quality of their offerings, but I was disappointed right from the start. The tuna sushi looked discolored and torn, while the shrimp and salmon were just average. The eel was drowned in sauce, and the rolls were also underwhelming. If you're new to sushi, this place might be okay for you. However, I would recommend exploring other options in the area for a better sushi experience. Overall, I would say that the quality here is similar to supermarket sushi at best.
We've only been to Shogun 2 times since its opening. It's a small but growing town and it definitely reminds me of a Benihana restaurant. They have nice dim lighting, perfect for a romantic evening. It can get a bit loud during certain times. You have a choice of dining at small intimate tables or the Tepenyaki Hibachi Grill. Note: if you order the hibachi rice, make sure and tell them you want the chicken or shrimp with vegetables or they will give you a bowl of fried rice. Nothing in the rice, but rice. We asked the waitress where was the veggies chicken. She said what we ordered was plain hibachi rice. Ugh, wish she would have told us. My husband didn't eat his. I ate mine, but it was very plain. Back to business, I would go here again one day, but I would ask specific questions about items on the menu. Oh, if you've never tried the plum wine, you must try a glass (only if you like sweet dessert wines) . Personally, I love it. The food, sushi, ambiance, tab and service was good.
