Francis Lewis Pastry Shoppe - Bayside

One of the few remaining bakeries in New York City, the real Italian pastries.... After avoiding the place because of the bad products for the last 3 years under another owner, I discovered that new owners took over and the food there is great. I was surprised to find the Italian cheesecake was almost identical to what my mother made for 60 years! The Cannolis are the freshest I have tasted in recent memory...... They will have a hard time to find better.... they make their own bakery dishes and use fresh ricotta cheese, making a very delicious dessert so true for real Italian bakeries! I felt the need to review this establishment because places like these are getting harder and harder to find! If you don't like this place, you really haven't experienced any good Italian pastries! And if you think they are expensive, go to a supermarket and buy duckmanns! You get what you pay...

Not only their service is fantastic, their paninis and desserts are the best in NYC. Although I live more than 10 miles away, I drive out of my way to taste and buy their desserts (especially Gelato, Cannolis, Cake and Prosciutto Bread). In fact, when I visit friends and family, they always ask me to come by and bring desserts from here. I tried the other (old, dirty and disgusting bakeries), but this is hands down, the best bakery in the area (and the cleanest for this matter)!!!

Once again Francis Lewis Pastry Shoppe has exceeded my expectations. The third grade of my nephew went on a class trip a few weeks ago. From warm welcome to the friendly staff, to pastry chef John's back hour, to the delicious paninis and gelato for lunch, my nephew always saves on his experience. It was a wonderful experience that all teachers and students enjoyed. I will recommend this class travel idea for the next year to the teacher of my daughter!

OMG. The best pignole cookie I've ever had. YOu can drive around Flushing and find no more beautiful family bakery. My mother turned me to them after she had her red velvet cake, which was great!!
