Bidra med feedbackMy husband and I enjoyed the lamb kofta appetizer, followed by a fillet steak and half a lobster tail at this restaurant. The lamb kofta was flavorful with nice spices, and the sweet and chili sauce paired well with it. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare with a delicious grilled flavor, and the cut was tender as expected. The lobster was good, but nothing extraordinary. The dish also included a large portobello mushroom and tasty potatoes. For dessert, we had a chocolate brownie with a soft, almost gooey center. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the quality chocolate and texture made it an outstanding brownie in my opinion.
Since it was Mother's Day and I didn't feel like cooking, I decided to treat my Mum to Sunday lunch at the Bathampton Mill. I really enjoy this restaurant because their menu is creative and exciting, offering dishes that are anything but ordinary. We started with the baked Camembert served with rustic bread and onion marmalade, which was absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and red wine jus, which was equally as tasty. I am now comfortably full and satisfied with the meal. The service was quick, efficient, and friendly. The restaurant is located right by the river, providing beautiful views and plenty of outdoor seating, making it a popular spot in the summer. However, the menu is worth exploring all year round.
On the hottest day of the year (so far), the restaurant was incredibly busy. Despite waiting 30 minutes for our lunch, the staff were professional and attentive. The queues for drinks were out the door, and those without reservations were left disappointed. It was a beautiful day to enjoy a meal before exploring Bath.
Loses a star for slow bar service at busy times. Ok bad bit over! A perfect setting right on the river, where boats from the city centre stop and drop off. Amazing garden and a high end finished bar and restaurant. Food is very good and always comes out quickly and well presented. Not cheap with mains starting around £10, but they also do big pizzas from around £8 It does get really packed on a sunny day and the bar service is grindingly slow due to not enough staff and sheer wright of numbers. But get there early in the evening and get the £12.50 two courses before 7pm. The most scenic spot in Bath!
