Duke Of York - Basildon

First visit here. loved the facility and atmosphere. efficient service of beautiful waitresses. my wife enjoyed her generous part of leber and speck, but my squid and chips were not the best piece of fish I had.

Great food and atmosphere, also very friendly and responsive. eat delicious.

After we had spent a day in southend on the sea and then in the lake meadow country park, we were randomly looking for a place to eat and came over the duke of york pub. I must say that my wife and I were not disappointed. at the arrival were both tania and kristy very friendly and showed us on our table. in the evening we did not have to get up from our table, as both tania and kristy picked up our order on the table for drinks and eat and bought them over, even if the place was busy and there were only two of them. Tuesday is 2 for 1 burgernacht and eating was very good and about the right size. the burgers were moist and well seasoned. even the locals who were in the pub were very friendly and had a few laughing with them. overall we had a very nice evening and would like to thank kristy and tania for it. will certainly come back, although its one hour drive from where I live.

It turns out that Tuesday night is buy 1 get 1 free on burger and pizza. can not speak for the pizza, but the great burgers we had were excellent. the chips were freshly cooked, the beer (3 cask ales on! wow! was wonderful and my 20-year-old son was happy with his esoteric old mout cider! I also have to comment on the service that was inviting and friendly from the beginning and on this wise further until we went, satisfied and determined to come back! really very good! recommended.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch service was so so.... a the hostess barked at us when we arrived and we had to chase drinks but the food was OUTWTANDING! Such great roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings for a pub lunch. Good portion of beef also.
