La Table du Boucher - Barsac

We went to this restaurant for lunch and were very pleased with this choice. The place is specialised in meat which is very good. The meat is cut thick which is perfect to guarantee a perfect cook. Everything seems to be home made and the waitress is extremely nice and professional so I definitely recommend this place. Merci pour les bouchons de bouteilles et pour la spécialité polonaise ! :

I had a lovely lunch at Le Table du Boucher with three friends while travelling through the area. The couple who run the place were lovely, the food was delicious and authentic french cuisine!

Room and toys for kids. Also very friendly owners. Meat is very good with good size servings. A great surprise on our way to Bordeaux. Way better than a pit stop on the highway!

Small bistro in a bar in a side street in village of Barsac. Obviously popular with the locals as was heaving when we arrived and took the last table available. Menu comprises a fixed price 3v course meal for the very good price of €12.50 Menu is written on a single blackboard, which is passed around by hand from table to table. It is a menu du jour changing daily I believe. Choice of I think 6 starters, 6 main courses and 6 deserts, although by the time we ordered several had been crossed off. Starters? We ordered a salmon terrine OK nothing special, a nice quiche and a duo of salmon mousse and avocado mousse which was very good. For mains we had a grilled piece of salmon very nice, duck breast skewers OK but at least one was rather fatty, and a beef skewer which was OK. Chips had been fried in duck fat and to me tasted delicious like UK chip shop chips NOT French Fries. Portion sizes were perhaps a little small. Deserts a Gateau Gasque which was very good and an acceptable Tarte Tatin. Staff while not rude or surly, were not the most welcoming, despite our ability to speak French. Maybe a local place for local people?

We arrived at our hotel early so decided to take a walk through the village to find somewhere to have a late lunch we found this little place and what a find it was! Lovely homemade food with excellent quality meat. My husband really enjoyed his veal steak beautifully cooked. We were recommended a bottle of the local red wine fabulous! The service was great. Would definitely visit again if we are in the area!
