Downtowner Grill - Baraboo

This place has a hell of a burger and they make some damn good drinks too

My wife and I stopped here after a day of hiking to grab a drink and possibly eat. We were a little disappointed that the only beer outside of the major labels (Bud, Busch, Miller, etc) was a Spotted Cow, we were really hoping for a tiny bit of a selection out of the norm. The bartender was really nice and more than accommodating for sure. It just wasn’t a spot we enjoyed so we opted out of eating there with the limited menu and moved along. Bar was nice, seemed like more of a local hangout which we can definitely respect, just wasn’t for us.

Ordered a grilled chicken and beer battered fries. She brought me a Philly cheese sandwich and beer battered fries. And then argued with me about that's what I ordered which it was not. She could barely keep her eyes open I don't know if she was drunk or high. I do not recommend Downtown Bar Grill.

There 's nothing like a great burger and if that 's what you 're craving, the Downtowner is the place to go! I try a different type of burger each time I go there and I 've never been disappointed. This one was a pepper cheese burger. They use the highest quality meat available and they 'll cook it to order. I had the tots and they were hot, crispy and well seasoned. I also had a whiskey old fashioned which was outstanding. Can 't beat the prices either. A great way to treat yourself in a true Wisconsin tavern environment.
