The Barnacle - Bar Harbor

The food and drinks at The Barnacle were everything I hoped for during our last night in Bar Harbor! The quaint clean space, the jazzy music, and the the soft lighting created such a lovely ambiance for enjoying a drink (or a few! in town. We said cheers to a wonderful week in Maine with our Allagash beers, fresh harbor oysters, and funny conversations with new friends.

A great change of pace from the t-shirt and souvenir shops, definitely stop in for a drink. The oysters were fantastic and as fresh as you can get! Beautiful wood built-ins and bar. High end bourbon selection and Cosmo, the charming bartender, will steer you right.

The Barnacle dishes and drinks were all I expected at Bar Harbor last night! The picturesque, clean room, the jazz music and the gentle lighting created a beautiful ambience for a drink (or a few! in the city). We have celebrated a wonderful week in Maine with our allagash beers, fresh port oysters and fun talks with new friends.

We drove through Bar Harbor, we came for a drink and a snack. Instead, we stayed for half a dozen oysters, a shell pot, a Maine Red Hot (not shown) and several drinks. Bar tender was very attentive and friendly. The picturesque and cozy place was the stop and additional time spent enjoying local seafood and beer. With many options for eating in Bar Harbor, I would recommend stopping from your way and have at least half a dozen oysters, a Maine Red Hot and a local craft beer. I would make this a regular stop when visiting Bar Harbor in the future.

The Barnacle was our first station after arriving in Bar Harbor. We were hungry and thirsty and our bartender Cosmo and the kitchen staff took care of the two for us! The shells were great, and one of the best Dark Stormys I've ever had. Large selection of beer and apple wine. A cool room with limited seating, but we could get a place at the bar quite quickly to make room for our food. In any case, I would like to hold back to my next visit!
