Mckay's Public House - Bar Harbor

Great eating, pleasant environment and friendly staff.

First we are very happy that they were open. our waitress Alexis was very sweet, efficient and full of knowing about the food and drinks menus. eating was pretty good. I ordered shrimp scampi and was very happy with it.

Ambiance is very good. Nice place. Good menu. Food came out quickly. Seafood risotto was warm (but not hot enough). Meatloaf was OK. Server (Cory D) was unenthusiastic. No smile, no kindness. Seemed bored with the job. It doesn’t take that much to help people enjoy their meal. If you don’t like the job, get a different one.

Not much to be said about miserable culinary skills in the kitchen

We got there right when they opened and it was a lovely experience. The food was incredible and service was fast. It started to get a little busy and noisy as we were leaving so I’m happy we got there early.
