Bidra med feedbackOld is always gold!! This place is marked as one of the first ones to setup Udupi style Breakfast in Bengaluru and when Bengaluru was really Bengaluru then.<br/ <br/ To start with the Button Idly, soothing sambar and then the Masala Dosa and ending with a perfect filter coffee, this place is underrated.
It’s is a difficult to locate for people new to this area. However their masala dose, idli vada sambar is really good. They also serve decent South Indian meals during lunch.
When you are at Gandhi Bazar and desperate to have Sagu masala dosa, and realise that vidyarthi bhavan is closed on a friday after you land, what next?? Worry not. Udupi sri krishna bhavan will save you.<br/ <br/ Another gem which started operating since 1926. How come coincidentally all legendary hotels started in 1926? Still wondering. Was it a culinary revolution year? 93 years is a long time. But the crisp dosa, with the mild sagu does wonders to you.<br/ <br/ Order a single idli dip as a filler, by the time ur dosa is crispified in the kitchen. Chutney has a hint of ginger here, and the ginger makes it different. Sambar here is top class, by the time u finish the idli, you will definitely figure out it wasn't a filler but a must have.<br/ <br/ Wash it all down with the double strong filter coffee.<br/ Extremely good. Considering the trouble one has to face to reach there on a working day, I suggest you to visit this on Friday. Be there to cherish the food.<br/ <br/ Now, wondering why have I rated less by a star, that's for the sake of love!<br/ <br/ Highly recommend.
Hi All,I visited this place with my family to have lunch,, the place and neat and well.maintained , you will get authentic udupi meal in plate as well as plantain leaves,...basically it's a south indian restaurant with udupi style dishes
If it's one of the legendary places in Basavanagudi (I heard it is) then it's one of the renovated ones...pleasant...service is old fashioned crisp, so is the food and clientele. I had one ghee soaked Bangalore style masala dosa (regretted not ordering the sagu dosa...heard many asking for this), medium size, crisp on outside thick inside...nothing Udupi style about it...it's the Udupi evolved in Bangalore masala dosa. Was satisfactory. Washed all the ghee down with 2 cups of coffee. Going here again for the sagu dosa as I am FOMO.
