Bidra med feedbackOn our first visit to Ida B's, we expected to be blown away by the quality of the food, so we were somewhat disappointed. We each got a signature dish, the fried chicken and the fried catfish, along with macaroni and cheese and Liberian greens. Everything was fine but not exceptional, and if anything a little under seasoned. The spicy dipping sauce was a helpful flavor boost. Service and atmosphere were good, but we thought the lunch entrees were pricey.
They do not seat incomplete parties, drinks arrived 15 min apart. Mac and cheese was cold. It was ok soul food. Will not return
Brunch: mini muffins and butter were awesome. Blackened chicken frittata was very good. Not too spicy because I'm not a fan of spicy and large. I could not finish. My husband loved his chicken and waffles and he is hard to please. Def would go back and do brunch and try dinner one day.
The food was nicely cooked but SO sweet. Like everything we ordered had 1 cup of sugar. I ordered the duck and it was practically crunchy candy. The dressing on the salads tasted like melted ice vanilla cream. Also the portions were OK but not great for the money. Maybe because they expect you to fill up on sugar, I don't know. We had to repeatedly ask for water and at times we still didn't get it. I was overall disappointed and won't be going back.
Ambiance is great. Good for a date night or hanging with the girls. Live jazz musicians add a nice touch.
