The food quality is poor. Deep fried cheap sausages for bangers and mash. The pulled pork bap described as a floury bun was served with a toasted basic bun. Great location and well decorated but the food offer is weak and overpriced
Overpriced and poor quality pulled pork. Visited with my wife on Saturday 22nd April in mid afternoon. A lovely entrance via a gate ,and lovely decor inside. Pulled pork was tasteless with what tasted like sauce out of a tin or bottle. Overpriced, poor quality food and it is clear prices are aimed at tourists pockets. There will surely be better places than this to eat. Extremely disappointed.
Went twice in the past week. The first occasion everything was absolutely fine. The second occasion two days later was very poor. The cheese on top of the tuna melt was melted to a hard unpleasant texture. The same with the garlic and cheese fries. The cheese was hard and crusty. And the garlic sauce was not the same sauce as two days previous. The chicken goujons with the kids meal were very over cooked. It’s like every meal was cooked and left under a grill for ages.
Five of us had lunch at this restaurant during the school holidays. I couldn't find any faults with the service, prices, quality, or taste of the food. While it may not be considered fine dining, it is definitely above average café food. When you are visiting a new town, this is exactly what you need - a good meal without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this place if you ever find yourself in Ballybunion (and it should be on every visitor's list when in Ireland).
