Shop Cafe - Bakersfield

The food at this restaurant is mediocre and could use more seasonings. The service is average. The restaurant is easy to find, located next to the Chevron station. Parking is acceptable, but exiting the lot can be challenging when trying to go in the opposite direction of traffic.

Before I review the amazing food I have to explain my 4 out of 5 star rating. It’s not convenient because it takes quite a while to pick up my to go orders. But it you have half an hour or so to sit down and order to wait, they you must try The Shop Cafe. The food is VERY GOOD! I’ve had the salads, burgers and fries. All of it is sooooo good! I only eat hamburgers once in a while, so when I do I make sure to get the best. This place has big juicy burgers on soft fresh buns. The fries are super yummy too. I totally recommend The Shop Cafe!!

This place is great. l like the atmosphere of the place and the food is wonderful. The portions are reasonable and always walk out with a full stomach. The staff are friendly and I always have a great experience when I eat here, highly recommended. I believe its CROATIAN owned. ZIVJELI!

We stopped at this restaurant for breakfast on our way to Auto Club Famoso. My son had eaten here before and recommended it. My husband and I decided to share the chili verde omelet. We requested the omelet on one plate and the cowboy potatoes on another, but we received a chili verde omelet and hash browns on the same plate instead. Despite the mix-up, we waited for another plate to eat the hash browns because it took 30 minutes to get our food, even though we were the only customers at the time. Our companion's food arrived before ours, and it took an additional 5 minutes to get the extra plate. I asked for salsa twice but never received it, only to see a tray of salsa at the counter when I went to pay the bill. The bill also incorrectly listed the order as chili verde with cowboy potatoes. Overall, the food was mediocre and nothing special. We may go back to Taco Loco for our next race instead.
