Bidra med feedbackThis restaurant is the best in bakersfield and one of the best I have eaten. we celebrated the holiday with the parents of my wife, her sister and her husband. I had the lamming frame and the others had different steaks; new york and fillets. everything was excellent. the cocktails were great (old fashion and wine). my father-in-law is 92 and on oxygen, the personal took their time to help him in the table and to secure his oxygen tank. this is an interesting restaurant in which the entrance in a street and in the ground unmaked, art like a speech-easy . you will find the red door and its pure! also thanks to the owner/chef and the entire staff for a great evening. I apologise for not remembering the names of all those who made us so big. I live in la, but we're planning to make the trip to my next birthday.
A true steakhouse experience, just like the old days. Came to town with no particular plan but the highlight of the trip was a visit to the Horse in the Alley! Saw the reviews and said, I got to check this out. Well, it is better than the amazing reviews. We arrived early and the helpful bartender got us a drink and had us sit down for the 45 seconds until our server Gill invited us to our table. Great ambiance in the main room! Quickly the real action took place. Gill demonstrated what a true professional server can do in the right environment. His attentive service and attention to detail were only part of the experience. He let us into his world and showed us how he learned his craft. After the delivery of our most amazing food (truly out of this world) we were greeted by the owner and chef who wanted our honest feedback and ideas for an even better experience. I guess he listened to all his previous customers because we had no one suggestion as to how to better this amazing experience. In a 1-10 scale I would give it a 15! Highly recommended!!! Will be your best memory of Bakersfield if you are passing through.
We need 100 more stars for this restaurant. Tucked away in an awesome area of downtown. The building is from the mid 1800s. Inside is a throwback to the art deco Era. Beautiful horseshoe bar. Dining area with large cushy booths. Service impeccable. But the food...off the hook. Bakersfield just got probably the best restaurant ever. The owner/chef made it a point to meet us and chat. Kudos to this great restaurant. If you haven't been there, go. You won't be disappointed. Time number 2, an utter failure. Bad excuses for terrible service. Horrible food. Unfortunately we will never go there again, and certainly tell everyone we know to never go there. Too expensive. They claim fine dining? Not even. Too expensive for Bakersfield. Good Luck before you close down.
I had the most amazing birthday dinner here last night! I can 't thank Beth enough for making the night so special. The atmosphere was classy, the decor gives it an artistic feel. The food was to die for! A quote from my brother after his first bite of lamb this is utopia. Definitely the best lamb we have ever had! I had the Block Filet and my mom had the Brandy Bleu Filet, I cant remember the last time I had a steak that was so melt-in-your-mouth. Especially with the brandy bleu filet, the strong and rich flavors go so well with the delicate filet. And it came out the perfect medium rare! I 'm a stickler about my cook on my steak so that was just awesome. The pudding was super yummy too! Not overly sweet so I was able to eat the whole thing after a big meal. I 'm so happy I chose Horse in the Alley for my birthday dinner, definitely will come here again for another special occasion!
This is an amazing restaurant. The food is by far the best I’ve ever had. The service is top notch. The spacing of the courses is perfect. You definitely don’t feel rushed to finish one thing before your meal comes. I had a steak with peppercorn sauce that was to die for. It melted in my mouth. The mixed vegetables were perfectly cooked. The atmosphere when you’re in the restaurant is very romantic. This is the perfect place for a romantic night out.
