Bidra med feedbackI often dream of these burgers when I'm away, and have been known to add 90 minutes onto my trip to the snow just to pass through Bairnsdale and get a burger (or two) at George's. We used to get them on the way to the snow as kids, and they're still exactly the same delicious! The plain burger is my favourite can't mess with that simplistic perfection!
We bought take out from this 'famous ' place tonight whilst on break in the gippsland area. Great old school shop and old school menu. Chips were ok a little pricey 6.30 for a large bag they were thin cut chips , chunkier ones would have been nicer. My husband ordered a burger with the lot and he said while it was a good burger it was no Andrews South melb . I had the steak sandwich which was nice . Steak was a little over done . Burger buns have sesame seeds so seed allergics like me be warned ! Meal was tasty however burger had pitiful amount of lettuce as did the steak sandwich . George 's could do with a refresh to keep this old school dream alive
Satisfying our craving for a delicious sovulaki, we thoroughly enjoyed the well-cooked chicken and lamb souvlakis. Thanks to George for meeting our expectations!
I have a George's Burgers magnet on my fridge, but unfortunately it's a three-hour drive from where I live. I first discovered George's when I had to travel to East Gippsland for work every 8 weeks. Their burgers are amazing, with fresh patties, plenty of egg and bacon, and crisp salad. However, what really keeps me coming back is their Scotch Fillet Steak Sandwiches. I often find myself making a detour to Bairnsdale on my drive from Canberra to Melbourne just to stop at George's. If you're a fan of Embassy Taxi Burgers or Andrew's Burgers in Melbourne, I highly recommend giving George's Burgers a try when you're in East Gippsland. Just make sure to call ahead!
Without a doubt, this restaurant serves the best Lamb Souvlaki in Australia!! The service is also friendly and welcoming.
