Hotel Furstenberg

We stayed in Bad Neuenahr Ahrweiler for a night to visit the casino. On our arrival I was hungry, so I went next to this restaurant. I had pasta with Chantarels and was very nice. I wouldn't say excellent, but I'm sure it was good. The staff was friendly.

We came at 20.15 with a party of 5 on a Thursday. We were greeted with the remark that they closed at 2130. Okay interesting start. We were asked not to sit in the central room that was prepared for something else. On the menu we had carving like that. Salad was good carving okish too fat for me. Coffe was not available because the machine was shut down. We were the only visitors and maybe this was for a reason

There are three places to eat duck: at home, in the Dordogne region in France or in Germany.We had a well prepared duck with a good accompaniment of fresh vegetables (red cabbage and apples).We drunk a local Ahr-wine which is too young to our taste. Other than that, an excellent and priceworthy evening meal.

Beim ersten Besuch war ich ja enttäuscht, aber diesmal waren wir begeistert.Der Service ist gut, die Karte bietet klassische Gerichte. Die Portionen sind üppig.
