Klosterschenke - Bad Hersfeld

For me an old becher kreuzberger klosterbier would have been enough! but I went on. the menu offers XXL dishes for non-vegans that go with the weight. I had a 500gr rumpsteak (done rare) with heart-shaped butter and fried kartoffeln. it looked beautiful, and it tasted better than that. I was with some colleagues and we had suppe as an appetizer. I had tomato soup and it was made fresh, thick and delicious. one of our party had garlauch cream suppe that he said was delicious and trouble-free the young people who manned the restaurant were friendly and the service was fast. the bill was 116 euro in four and we thought it was more than honest. will certainly go back to the first opportunity. only one note: the menu mentions a 1kg spoon. I'd like to try a day.

Eating here is amazing and the staff is very friendly. I had to go twice in 5 days cannot wait to come back!

I had a rumpsteak (done rare) with savoury butter and fried potatoes . It looked gorgeous...and it tasted better than that. I was with some colleagues and we had soup as starter. I had tomato soup and it was freshly made, thick and tasty. One of our party had garlic cream soup which he said was delicious and "trouble-free". The young guys manning the restaurant were kind and the service was quick. The bill was euros in four and we thought it was more than honest. Will certainly go again at the first opportunity. Just one more note: the menu mentions a wienerschitzel.. I would love to try that one day.

Wegen des guten Wetters nahmen wir im angeschlossenen Biergarten Platz, in dem es alle Speisen des Restaurants ebenfalls gibt. Die Umgebung ist nicht das Highlight und die Polster für die Stühle haben wir uns selbst besorgt. Die Speisekarte reichhaltig, was oft Anlass zu Besorgnis gibt, aber hier nicht. Die Bedienung rustikal, wie die Umgebung, aber sehr freundlich und sehr flexibel. Das Essen war schnell da, es schmeckt ausgezeichnet und die regionale Biersorte nur zu empfehlen. Wer keinen Wert auf Ambiente, aber auf gutes Essen und nette Bedienung legt ist hier richtig.
