Schnitzel Charly - Bad Friedrichshall

I live in Florida now and my grandma took me here all the time when I was a kid. I ate there again 30 years ago and come in May, next year. It has changed names over the years, but the food is always WONDERFUL!

640g Schnitzel is large enough to feed two people. Croquets were delish and I recommend the mushroom sauce. Only complaint is that during the heat wave with high humidity, none of the seat options offered relief of weather with bees and many smokers.

We went as the extended family and enjoyed ourselves. The portions are huge and the service was good. This is not a fancy place but it has a large outdoor patio and a down home feel about it.

First ever visit, fantastic food and the portions were generous, we went on a Friday evening and it is very popular. The atmosphere was very homely and the staff were very friendly and helpful considering my lack of the German language. Off the beaten track but well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Schnitel Charly was one of a (very) options for dinner during our stay in Bad Friedrichshalls on a Sunday evening in July. The restaurant was relatively full which was a surprise for a very residential area in a small German town and service was very friendly and quick. Unless you are big (think of Klichko brothers or a sumo fighter) and VERY VERY hungry, a half portion would do nicely. Otherwise you'll end up with a dinner plate size Schnitlel and a separate serving of french fries or other side dish. It was probably not the best Schnitzel I've ever eaten but definitely not the worst one.
