The Dürkheim coffee house is able to offer both defensive, dull cuisine and sweet treats and thus obviously to have a thriving success. The place is very central between the legendary giant wine barrel and the well maintained spa park. An additional, non-negligible bonus: on the large sausage market square in front of the Dürkheimer Fass you can park for free and stroll over to the coffee house in just a few minutes. All guests may welcome the fact that the entrance and the main guestroom are flattering. And: the restaurant has opened on seven days a week from 9:00 to 18:00, so it is equally suitable for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, vesper, early dinner. Of course also for a coat of wine or a glass of champagne. Actually, we had planned a small hike on Easter Monday with a group, but it had to be cancelled due to the rainy stormy weather. As a evasive program, only the usual coffee and cake ritual was offered. Unfortunately, we were not alone with this idea. Around 2 pm, the Dürkheim coffee house was magnificent and occupied at first glance to the last place. In the Mediterranean graceful guest room with bright solid wood furniture and yellow plastered walls, table and chairs were very, very tight – probably in order to make optimal use of the space in the easterly direction. One had to navigate very skillfully to sneak through the guests and the furniture to get to a free table in the rear corner. A place reservation is apparently announced and advisable at main times. In good weather, there are also two outdoor terraces with southern greenery. The (obviously homemade) cake must be selected from the richly stocked and cleverly illuminated counter itself. I felt like a covered rhubarb cake, but only one with a baiser hood was available. At first glance, it seemed like a somewhat unhappy bottle, but it tasted excellent – the acidity of the rhubarb was well absorbed by the sweet Baiser. That the piece of cake then appeared on the bill as a cake for 3,60 euros, I did not find quite appropriate... The coffee is offered in three sizes: cup, cup, cup, cup. However, the adorable Mövenpick gourmet coffee was too acid-treated to me and caused straight stomach pain. Fortunately, I chose only one cup for 3.30 euros. My accompaniment was very happy with Earl Grey Tee. Some of the neighboring tables were still at lunch and what I could see was quite after my Gusto. I'd like to know who's in the kitchen, maybe a swab? In any case, there are hand-cabed Spätzle on the map and 1a Black Forest cherry cake on the cake counter. Also the herbal pancakes in different variations would correspond entirely to my taste. My great praise is for the service here: friendly, attentive, fast and everywhere present, yet unstressed and patient. Apparently, as in other locals, the staff is not saved. We didn't have to wait long when ordering or paying.

Unsere Kuchen schmeckten uns. Die Preise dafür empfanden wir als gehoben. Der Latte schmeckte mir nicht so dolle. Aber ich bin da auch SEHR wählerisch. Mein Partner empfand ihn als in Ordnung. Die Servicekraft war sehr nett, aufmerksam. Das Ambiente empfanden wir 80er/90er.
