Coutts Commercial Tavern - Ayr

We came to dinner last Wednesday. The new booking system was in its teething stages but staff were happy to assist and made it known from the beginning it was new and helpful criticism was welcomed so they can improve for next time. I would like to make special note of one staff member in particular, Janelle. She was amazing. Always smiling, each time I looked up she was helping someone different, and made sure everything was running smoothly. Our 4 year old asked to go back another day to see the nice lady who gave him sprinkles on his ice cream. Will be back again.

All the staff were very nice, welcoming and friendly. Nice little tavern. Great food and plenty of it, and prices reasonable. I would of given this place 5 stars but there was a bad smell to the place I nearly didn't stay but it was only in part of the pub, thankfully. If they got rid of that smell it would be one of the best pubs I've been to through out Australia. I will go back though and see if that smell is any better as could of been just an off day.

I highly recommend joining the Monty's Club for free to receive discounts at all of their pubs. The Commercial is a pub that serves delicious pub food and is not crowded during the day. They play music, offer TAB, Keno, and pokies. The pub is great for hot days as it is fully air-conditioned. However, sometimes the place can have a slight smell of stale beer and carpet.

My two friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food at this restaurant! The chefs did an excellent job. It was definitely worth the money and we would be happy to eat here again. The staff were friendly and the service was fast. We had a great experience dining in. Thank you very much!

My friend met me at Coutts for dinner a couple of times. Nice old fashion tavern. There's a bar area as you walk in to watch the big screen tv other tv's placed around the area. The dining area is comfortable and could hold quite a lot of patrons. There's a pokies area also, at the back of the hotel. With the new restrictions with Covid 19 patrons are required to sign in and out. Hand sanitiser is located in several places around the tavern entrance, bars, dining room and pokies. The meals are average but satisfying. Had one of the specials on one of the nights we were there mixed grill 2 lamb chops, piece of steak cooked to perfection), 3 sausages, rasher of bacon, grilled tomato, fried egg n huge helping of chips, mushroom sauce on the side there is a choice of several sauces to choose from). The meal was huge so if you have a huge appetite you won't go away hungry!! The other meals are reasonably priced and plenty to eat. The staff and service was good.
