Gatehouse Diner - Aylesbury Vale

Two of us called for afternoon tea which was prepared freshly for us. A very plentiful meal with an assortment of homemade goodies! The staff were friendly and attentive, and we were supplied boxes to take home the significant surplus. All at a price which made for exceptional value. We will certainly return!

A unique place to eat Is it a greasy spoon ? Is it a b list restaurant ? The food quality varies like the British weather now I'm sad to say... When it's good it's good, No longer good value. IF the food was consistently good then it would be good value again. Nice staff !

Went for the first time omg it is so so cosy in there, food was amazing had a jacket potatoe with tuna mayonnaise nd cheese absolutely scrummy, also a coco loco smoothie which tatsed out of this world and a coffee bun with frosting which just tantalised my taste buds, Will be going for breakfast tomorrow Godwilling I'm sure it will be just as good so looking forward to it, staff were so lovely and polite and smiley will be my no 1 spot from now on

Having received a voucher for Afternoon Tea at this place, on booking I found that the latest time was 1.30. I received a message on the morning of the booked day to ask if we were still going and I replied yes. On arrival we waited for 30 minutes with a pot of tea for the Afternoon Tea to arrive. It consisted of chunky sandwiches of cheese and lettuce, sausage, bacon and lettuce and tuna. No finesse , white bread and what they wanted to get rid of from breakfast I thought. Two scotch eggs and small picnic things. Two fruit scones which were stale or had been frozen for weeks with tiny amounts of jams and cream. Cakes were all cut up from larger ones, two fancy biscuits from a packet, two macarons and a few strawberries. Some cakes were stale too. Please do not offer this if you cannot provide. What a huge disappointment. No table set up for us as we expected after confirming we would be there.

I went to Aylesbury for my car servicing. There is no place to eat nearby so Alan (Pocha Moosh) dropped me to Gatehouse Diner. Lovely food excellent customer service provided the lady at reception. Most authentic Banana shake I have ever had. Will definitely visit again.
