Les Capucins - Avallon

This is very a French rural hotel with all the plus points (and some minus) of it. the rooms are not large, but during the cool spell well heated while we stayed. the water was not sufficiently warm and when we were on it. At check-out, we were told that we were not the first to report that, but the kitchen has a lot of hot water! but the staff was friendly and, except for the thema hot water, very courteous. the restaurant was very good, with an excellent wine card.

There is a real feeling for eating and service. it is informal, not unusual, with inexpensive menus and warm, inviting employees. the good terrace at the back part of the hotel is a nice place to enjoy a meal on summer night.

We were on Christmas Eve 2016e. the meal was delicious and the atmosphere festive. a friendly, cheerful place.

Had the most superb piece of steak here a local speciality as well I think. Great service and a lovely cafe gourmand to finish.

Pretentious restaurant. The food is too bad. The meat was no good, but the fish was horrible. We found a dead fly in the salad! And the service just say desolé! , and they did not give us any compensation.
