Bidra med feedbackI was staying at a nearby hotel and wanted to try some place different for dinner as I've tried most of the bbq/tex mex restaurants in the area. I was very pleased with K-Bop. It's a small/cozy little spot that seemed to be really popular among the college students. The ordering process was simple and efficient (you order and pay on the screen and they print you a receipt with a ticket number). Took about 7 minutes to get my food after ordering. I went with the spicy chicken bulgogi bowl and a Korean shrimp tempura roll. The spicy chicken bowl was good and very filling. I didn't care for the Korean shrimp tempura roll. All and all this is a great place if you're looking for a quick and simple delicious meal.
I was at a conference nearby and decided the hotel lunch didn't look super enticing. Took a walk and wound up at K-Bop. This is a cute, little hole-in-the-wall Korean spot with classics like Bulgogi and Bibimbap as well as noodle soups and other tasty looking dishes. I ordered the Kimchi Jjigae. It was a spicy red soup that included sausage, spam, noodles, and of course, kimchi! It also came with a side of steamed rice topped with an over-easy egg. This was a perfect lunch for a cold, rainy day. The soup was flavorful and had the right ratio of veggies to meats. The rice with egg on the side was a great contrast to the hot soup. The staff was also very friendly. I would LOVE a place like this in South Austin but am happy to come back to the drag again to eat at K-Bop.
Tasty, quality Korean food very close to the UT campus and ATT conference center hotel. It's a little whole-in-the-wall place, with 3 ordering screens and a handful of indoor seats. 3, 1-2 person tables outside. It was super easy to pick my food and options and pay at the station. They appeared to do a lot of takeout and order ahead business. On ordering, the text said 10-15 minutes, but food was done in 10 or less. The bulgogi beef was very tasty. The bowl was substantial enough that I had leftovers. It was clean, staff was friendly. The Korean pop music was a fun addition. It reminded me of my last trip to Korea. Price was about 20 for the bowl, extra rice, soda and tip. For non-fried, non-fast food, it was well spent. I love Bulgogi, and this was tasty. The chicken katsu also looked good. It was good enough that I might head back once more on my trip here. If not, I'll definitely hit it up again on my next trip to Austin.
Simple, everyday meal stop for price conscious people. Great thing is, you don't have to give up quality. The staff is hardworking, attentive, and prepares the meals in a way true to its Korean style.
Spicy chicken bulgogi bowl is a must try from my order. Fried chicken dumplings and tofu kimbop tasted okay! Overall taste okay prices reasonable.
