Bidra med feedbackAte lunch here on a Sunday not crowded at all. And apparently they have figured out they are not busy so only had one cook owner) and a hostess /waitress on staff. Which means slow. I agree that it has an odd decor. Linen table cloths topped with white paper, tvs everywhere and food served on plastic platters topped with hot dog themed paper. It's odd but hey, I am not an interior designer so whatever. The hostess /waitress was really nice and the restaurant was pretty quiet none of the tvs really had the volume on. I ordered the shrimp poor boy with house chips. The ingredients seemed fresh and the sandwich was huge! It was good. Hubby had the party melt and fries which he also said was good albeit a tad greasy. Overall I was pleased with our meal and I give it 4 stars lost one for bring slower than I had anticipated a meal).
I should have known not to stay when we walked in and it smelled like mildew and it's noon and we are the only people in there. No substitutions?? Is this the 1960's or what? The food was bland and tasteless. Will never come back here.
My friends and I have designated this as a new favorite neighborhood hang out spot. They're in the process of redecorating, adding more taps and upping the ante on their beer selection so the place just keeps getting better! We can't figure out why this place isn't packed considering how good it is and how positive other reviews are. On Wednesday they have $1 tacos that are just phenomenal! Too many favorites to choose just one but I think I've tried them all! They also do $4 top shelf margaritas included blended ones (mango and pommegrante). Also, the owner/bartender, Horatio, is just a really cool, personable guy. Still haven't tried the stuffed burgers, so more to come on that. I've seen the burger menu though ...its extensive and they all sound fabulous. If you just want a regular burger, I recommend the California burger. Who doesn't love fresh avacado?
Passing through area and checked Yelp reviews for a burger place. Based on the reviews we decided to try this spot. We arrived right at noon. We were a bit alarmed when there was only one table briefly occupied when we arrived. Once those customers left we we the only ones there for the entire noon hour. One of the first things I noticed on the menu which was reinforced again and again was No Substitutes. This message doesn 't make it seem as though they are very customer friendly. My wife had the cod and really enjoyed it. Unlike so many other restaurants the breading was light which allowed the fish flavors to come through. I had the Bacon-ater. It arrived cooked medium-well, just as I ordered it. It was juicy with the slightest bit of pink showing. It was served with fries that had an additional seasoning/light breading. I enjoyed the fries. The burger was char-grilled but not particularly flavorful despite being cooked perfectly. We also had an order of onion rings and ranch dressing as an appetizer. The rings were good and unlike so many places their ranch dressing thick and creamy. The main restaurant area is pleasant with lots of windows. In hindsight we wished we had sat in the bar area. It looked to have lots of character. So overall it was good but not the knock your socks off burger place I was looking for. Probably won 't be back.
Quaint bar. Prompt service. Overcooked, dry and tasteless burgers that are light on the meat and heavy on the toppings. Horrible burgers. Do NOT believe the hype! Looks are deceiving. Will NOT be back,
