Maple Sushi - Aurora

Been going to Maple Sushi since it opened. Delicious food and friendly staff. All of the food is freshly prepared and displayed beautifully. Staff gets to know you by name.

Visited with my sons and a friend, food quality is very good and service always prompt. The lunchtime all you can eat is excellent value. The Fried scallops and beef teriyaki are worth trying.

My husband and I decided to have Sushi in Aurora. We have been here several times because the food is good.We went on a Friday Evening about 8:45pm. It is all you can eat and it closes at 10:00pm.We placed only one order and we were going to order ice cream at around 9:15pm. We were a little full and said we were going to wait a few minutes. The chef started swearing in English looking directly at me....not backing down. I looked around, there was no tv above me and no one else in the restaurant. He was scowling. The funny thing was that we were not ordering any more food. At 9:30pm, they started putting up the chairs. Now the sushi chef is still scowling in my direction and speaking in his language. I asked for the bill from the waitress and told her we were never coming back. I asked my husband to pay the bill. The waitress said I did not understand what they were saying because they were speaking their language. I said I felt his anger and he swore in English loudly. Anyway, I told her that's what understood. That's universal. We will never go back. I have spoken to others, and they said they had similar experiences especially during the lunch time.Anyway, spend your hard earned money elsewhere. A smile and a thank you go a long way.

I had finally broken down and tried a new sushi place in Aurora. Big mistake! The restaurant looked clean, nice Asian cutlery. So a point for that. 10% off when paying cash! Another point for that. Here's where it went wrong for me:1) minus one for the food! We ordered more than what the photo I've included suggest. The sushi was not fresh! No flavour! It was bland and tasteless! This goes with the spring rolls and chicken wings as well.2) minus one for the service. The servers would literally drop the food on the table, not give any description of what they brought us, and begrudgingly brought us tea and water. How can anyone expect a tip after that?3) finally... Minus one for the cost. On weekend evenings it is $21.95 just to sit down. For what this place offers, I'd put it at a low end sushi restaurant. In saying this, paying the amount of money they're asking for suggests they are on par with local restaurants such as "Mi.Ne sushi" and "The Mandarin". Be rest assured, they are not. Do not waste your time or money on a subpar place for the same cost you'd spend on a decent local restaurant. Be warned!
