La Tavernetta - Augsburg

The La Tavernetta is a very nicely decorated restaurant located in Augsburg. The food was very good. No matter whether starter, main course or dessert, it was convincing in every category. Everything was freshly prepared and you could taste it. The prices there are of course a bit higher, but this is reflected in the good quality that is delivered there. The service was very nice and courteous. Not pushy but always there. The parking facilities are also okay as there are two large parking garages nearby.

We stopped for lunch while out sightseeing. There were tables available outside and the weather was nice so we made ourselves comfortable. The waiter appeared immediately and was very attentive during the meal. We had local beers, bruschetta, and 8.50€ lunch specials. The pasta in both dishes was perfectly al dente. This is a personal pet peeve of mine; if a restaurant presents itself as Italian, they should get the pasta right. La Tavernetta nailed it! As a last point, the beers were only 3.30€, which is very good pricing!

Wow! This place looks like nothing from outside but it’s an hidden gem! Typical Italian food, simple but delicious serve by an outstanding waiter always there when you need anything but not being annoying.
