Bette's Eatery - Auckland New Zealand

This was our second time at Bette's. It was a cool night and the only tables were out front, so we took our chances with the weather as the sun went down. We were warned that it would be 30 minutes until we could get food, which would have been fine, but it took 20 minutes to get the order in, then another 15 to get our wine. The place wasn't packed, especially for a Saturday night, so I was surprised by the service. Once the food arrived, it was delicious! We split the breads and hummus, beef cheek tacos (delicious! , the fish curry, and the broccolini. I was very satisfied with the food, and the atmosphere was great. We'll be back the next time we're in Devonport.

We randomly stumbled across this place while we were looking for somewhere for lunch in Devonport and were very glad we did. Can highly recommend the share plates we had the beef croquettes, sliders and agria potato skins and they were all outstanding, especially the potato skins. Impressive cocktail and drinks menu too.

Great find in the middle of Devonport's main street. Bette's is primarily a wine bar with a tapas style menu and eclectic decor with a Kiwiana vibe. Cosy rugs and heaters are on hand to beat off the winter chill. We ordered four share plates slow braised beef ribs, a tower of red onion rings, roasted cauliflower and potato fries (which come in skinny or fat with roasted garlic aioli). Amazing flavours, each dish had thoughtful presentation and very generous portions. I really enjoyed the roasted cauliflower paired with capers and almonds, delicious. Service was prompt, the waiter knew his way away around the menu and could recommend his favourites. Pretty sure I'll return to try more of the menu. And good value, $36 for our four plates.

Not long opened, Bette 's is my new favourite Devonport eatery. Hands down. The very fact that it has been packed since opening, suggests that I am not the only one who feels the same. Offering little tapas plates for sharing, the food that comes out of this kitchen is seriously something else. The prices are pretty reasonable for some of the scrummiest food you will find this side of the Harbour bridge. My last visit I went with my auntie who is a Devonport Local and has seen many eateries come and go in this area, and even she was impressed. In the actual restaurant It 's set up as a nod to as they put it 'nana nostalgia ' , a sort of 50 's Parisian chic, complete with golden syrup tins, antique plates and a little retro bicycle holding the door open. Be prepared to have this little eatery charm your socks off.

I have been to this place before when it was under different management and it was pretty generic. But it's been a few years so we decided to head back for brunch this morning. This place is amazing. We got a good spot under an umbrella and we were served straight away. Very friendly staff and the food is so full of flavour!! I had a thai chicken salad and I was impressed! Takes a bit to impress me with basic foods, but this salad is a MUST have when you go here. Coffee was very nice but I only got a small when I asked for a large. But maybe that's a good thing haha. Can't wait to come back here again!
