Bidra med feedbackOpposite the abbey, you will find the Tilleuls restaurant. Warm welcome, careful family cooking, low prices! Here, everything is homemade. A treat!!
The village of Auberive is peaceful, abbey, water courts, shaded paths. During my walk I stopped at the Auberge des Tilleuls. Fast service, simple and hearty meal, warm atmosphere. High prices for the quality. I recommend . Hubert
I recommend, very good restaurant and it is the owner Mireille who does everything Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
If you decide to eat here, be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. In the meantime, you can study the menu, considering however, the most appealing food on it is certainly not available. It was available when the menu was compiled, months ago. After all customers are not regulars here. The same applies for the freshness of what remains available. Items were fresh..last month. Now it is frozen potatoes and canned peas. Anything else, regardless of the name, is drunken in the same sauce that covers it all, a make up lift that . Look at the decor of the room—this is what you will eat, too. Forget allergies, the lady doesn’t know what is in the food she allegedly prepared.I don’t doubt her word that she prepared it, but there was enough time in between to also forget the ingredients she used. Careful about asking for more of anything. Extra canned peas were charged 10e. Not a mystery why locals don’t recommend this place, in particular compared to its illustrious neighbor. Shall we reward the one-person-show effort? Only if, as a local told me (later).. bring your wallet and leave home your stomach. If you decide to eat here.. think again.
Went for a visit of the Auberive Abbey and fortunately it was closed. I say fortunately because if it was open we would have not visited this excellent restaurant, located opposite the car park for the entrance to the abbey. The restaurant is run by a delightful lady who could not speak a word of English. The menu was also in French. Alas our French is not what it should be!! We chose the three course meal of the day, approx. 15euro and it was absolutely delicious. The owner took delight it telling us that it was all home made from the starters to the dessert and I have no doubt. If you are visiting this lovely village, may I suggest having lunch at this outstanding true French Restaurant. Bon Appetit.
