Hook Reel Cajun Seafood - Athens

The staff was very friendly, attentive and accommodating. I got the fried calamari and it was perfectly cooked. The cook knows what they're doing because the calamari was the most tender I've ever had. Not rubbery at all, crispy batter, fresh clean taste. Dining area is very spacious and cozy. There's also a nice outside area to dine.

Excellent lunch of a shrimp boil (in a bag) for me and a chicken tender salad for my wife. Nice spice options for the numerous boils. Bibs, gloves and wet-naps keep you clean. Restaurant specializes in Cajun seafood boils, but has a good selection of salads, soups, po? boy sandwiches, nice sides and even spaghetti. marinara. Service was excellent, friendly and efficient. Dining area is huge with TV a conveniently spaced throughout the area. Very nice bar and outdoor dining area.

We really enjoyed our crabs and black mussels. The service was also great. Mackenzie, our server, was great. She was very attentive. We can?t wait to go again.

A great seafood place in Athens. I ordered the shrimp basket with a side of clam chowder soup. The soup was really good, hot, and fresh. The fried shrimps' batter is perfect, and perfectly golden. Portion size is good. I would also recommend ordering other seafood options as they looked appealing. Will definitely come again whenever in Athens.

Nice clean place. Friendly staff. This is more of boil restaurant. We tried fried calamari, flounder basket, crawfish boil. The cajun fries are nicely seasoned and the crawfish boil was flavorful. Will definitely consider coming back.
