Sabor De Cuba - Astoria

I placed a takeout order and the process was very smooth. When I arrived, my order was already wrapped and ready to go. The sweet plantains were phenomenal, some of the best I've ever had. The ropa vieja was a bit pricey at $19, but it was slightly drier than I would have liked. The restaurant had a dark atmosphere, but it had a chill vibe that I enjoyed. I would definitely go back and would recommend it to a friend.

I was impressed by the creativity of the drink menu at this restaurant. The wine bottle serves as the menu and the red box holds the menu items. The decorations are beautiful and unique. Although I didn't try the food, I did have the Mojito and it was delicious. I will definitely be returning to try the food next time.

I discovered this restaurant while looking for delivery options, but after seeing the menu I decided it would be better to dine in. We were able to secure outdoor seating with heating lamps and well-spaced interior seating. We tried the chicken empanadas and they were the best I've ever had, especially considering they were made with a corn base. The arepa with oxtail was delicious and a pleasant surprise. The seafood paella had a generous amount of seafood and was a great size for two people. The steak with rice and beans was cooked perfectly and had a great flavor. I am definitely looking forward to returning and trying more items from their menu, as it seems you can't go wrong with any choice.

The fact that my friend and I have been here at least 4 times this year (2 before pandemic restriction and 2 post restrictions) says a lot. The food is good and their Sangria with passion fruit is different good. The Sanjito (combo mojito and sangria red or white) pitcher is addicted. So far, all the appetizers we have tried are good, although the chicken chicharon we thought was more like skin, but they were just basically chicken nuggets. Main dishes well portioned and well presented. You have servers that are very attentive.

Great restaurant! Their service, food, wine, and live music is A1! Def recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for Cuban food or good steak ropa vieja!
