We happened here for the open WC. Had a great coffee and pastries. Great staff on the piazza in central Asti walking distance to everything.
Stopped for lunch today and wasn’t disappointed. Excellent food at reasonable prices in a lovely setting. Full tables of locals tells its own story. Highly recommended.
It 's a crowded place, with a mix of locals and tourists. They have a nice choice of wine, all the cocktails you might want and a pretty good collection of amari (bitters). Locals mostly come for cocktails, tourists mostly come for a few glasses of local red (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Barolo). It 's likely you 'll be offered a few tiny sandwiches with your order, which come for free. Service is very good and professional. The boss is congenial and occasionally shares an anegdote or an insight related to what you 're going to drink. They tolerated our A2-level Italian quite well. Even if you speak English, it 's not going to be a problem. Now for the amari. They have Petrus and Unicum, so that about makes it perfect. But they did have vecchio del capo, averna, ramazzotti, zucca, fernet (branca and menta), montenegro, cynar and all the sweeter ones, should you fancy that. All in all, highly recommended.
