Porcellino Divino - ASSISI

If you’re in the lower part of Assisi and looking to visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Degli Angeli, you will be out of luck because it closes midday and reopens at 14:30. Might as well get a great sandwich at Porcellino Divino. This shop proves my point that smoked pork, porchetta in Italian, doesn’t need to be slathered with a sweet sauce that we tend to do more often than not in the US. Enjoy a panino like no other here!

This is a butcher shop specializing in porchetta. We were shown hoe they prepare this and then sat down to a huge lunch right in the butcher shop. Of course they served the porchetta, along with so many cold cuts, liver pate, breads, olives cheeses and several other dishes. This was a unique experience and one well worth experiencing.

Great spot for lunch. To stay or take Away. Bought 2 great paninis. English menu, great service and you could tell the people working there took pride in their job.

Highly recommended for the high quality of food: from bread, super crispy to cold cuts or meat. There are choices for vegetarians as well. Fast and accurate service, kind and friendly staff.

This delightful little place was recommended to us by a friend, and it was just as delicious as expected. Definitely worth stopping off for a quick panino if in the vicinities of Assisi.
