Degli Angeli - ASSISI

I love this oven, when I want Sicily I do not even a kilometer and can taste the best cannoli in the world. Excellent also the other sweet pasta, the classic ones to understand. I'm also a delight for pastries, especially sesame cookies. Good bread and delicious cassata.

I highly recommend a visit to the Panetteria Degli Angeli in Santa Maria degli Angeli. Whether you are Sicilian, or you love the scent of that land. Yesterday evening my wife and I, Sicilians for almost 20 years in Umbria, we wanted to sing. My son Calogero had let us taste some cannoli of this bakery a long time ago and they were really good, and so we wanted to check in person. We discovered a place of those who make you reconcile with life: smells, flavors, colors, everything talked about my childhood. We are always very difficult with those who propose authentic Sicilian things, but I must tell you that here we are more than authentic. Yesterday we took to try: an arancino (excellent, perfect), of semolina bread with the giuggiulena (the sesame) that was not good, was STRAORDINARI!!!! Even in my country they don't do it anymore, they do it now in plastic and it becomes rubbery and unclean. What we would have called CHICHIRI, will be crunchy and smelled of wheat, I hardly kept a little for this morning because I wanted to taste it with milk. The sacrifice was rewarded. A pleasure and joy of the senses. What about cannoli? Crunchy the skin, ricotta, subliem and then make them in front of you, as you should always do. Thank you very much. By now we will not be able to do without this bakery even if it is about 20 Km we will go to find it often. Also because we want to taste the hint that they say they do customary and of which we are worshipers. And who knows they don't even make the panels? and other pleasures of the palermitan.
