Bidra med feedbackWe ordered fish and chips from this restaurant, which we usually order easily as locals. However, this time the chips were soggy and oily, and the cod was mainly batter and oily, not very nice at all. We usually come here because the fish and chips are normally very good, but this experience was horrible and made us feel sick. It seems like something may have changed in the way the food is prepared. We may not be returning as customers after this disappointing meal.
Ordered via Deliveroo. Very disappointed in the quality of the meals. The children’s fish bites contained a couple of flakes of hard fish covered in rubbery batter! The kids size cod was the same size as the adults and the quality of the fish was poor! Ordered cheesy chips, no cheese and the all portions of chips were anaemic, most went in the bin! Won’t bother again!
I called earlier as I am extremely disappointed with your establishment. Our last delivery last week was not to your usual standard as we had to wait longer than usual (when we called to see where it was we were advised you were waiting for drivers) and the portion sizes were not good. We let it go last week, however we have again used your business tonight and our portions again were unsatisfactory. I have no problem with your business increasing your prices, however you have reduced the portion sizes of everything, especially chips and this is not acceptable. When prices rise, customers do not have a problem if they are still getting the same size meals, however increasing prices and reducing portion sizes does not suffice. I'm afraid you will be losing our custom.
While in Ashford visiting a client, we asked for lunch recommendations and were directed to The Fish Inn. Upon arrival, we discovered that it is more like a fish bar where you order your food and can take it to the adjoining pub. We enjoyed fish and chips served in a box along with a pint of Guinness, which was delicious. The fish was freshly cooked and paired perfectly with tartar sauce. The Guinness was even poured with a shamrock on top, a rare touch these days. The establishment is a very local pub, fish bar, and kebab shop with friendly locals. We had a fantastic time and couldn't have asked for more.
I ordered two small portions of chips for £5 at this restaurant on Friday, January 6th at 12:15pm. Unfortunately, one portion was old and recooked, making it inedible, while the other portion was freshly cooked. This was not the first time I have experienced issues with the food here, so I will not be returning. I had hoped to give them another chance, but sadly, the quality did not meet my expectations.
