Coffee good but now soooo expensive. Cafe seating closed off in parts and looked poor with not a great atmosphere ambience. Overall disappointing
Coffee as usual is good and at a reasonable price. The Gents loos need a good spruce. Chewing gum in the urinals and the state of the sink panels should be attended to; seems to have been in this state for quite a while. PLEASE TIDY UP. 3 stars given due to state of loos.
I was at Tenterden Folk Festival a fortnight ago and several of our party said that Costa was v slow. I waited until 1130 and managed to get served fairly quickly there were 3 servers. At 1315 I went in and there were 13 people in front of me and 2 servers; there were 2 tables with people sitting at them. There was another server cleaning a seating area, despite there being several spare tables. Several in the queue behind me were huffing and puffing. One of the servers who was cooking sausages in buns kept on dropping the sausages on the counter, picking them up with her fingers and then licking them. After 20 minutes another of my party came in and I told him I'd get him a coffee if I could but that I'd been waiting a long time; after 30 minutes I gave up, still being 5 people away from being served. Throughout this time the reserved area became extremely clean and yet still no one was sitting at any of the other empty tables. 1. A delay of 30 minutes during a well publicised event is ludicrous as it speaks of incompetent staff poorly managed. 2. One server taking 30 minutes to sweep and clean an area consisting of three tables is ridiculous, particularly when there was other seating available. 3. Servers not having the right tools to produce food and/or not knowing not to lick her fingers is a breach of I can't imagine how many food laws. I have a loyalty card and enjoy Costa coffee more than any of the other high street brands, however, I was in and out of next door Nero in no time. I think it's time that Costa management took a serious look at this shop.
While waiting to be served the lady in front of me in the queue, was just stirring her coffee at the counter and asked the male server if she could put the used stirrer on the tray.She was told in a very rude manner'There are waste bins over there"unbelievable, she had just spent about £15 pound.My turn now, ordered 2 lattes and asked for one to be extra hot.I sat down and waited.When they were ready they were put on the counter, no your coffee is ready now, no please or thank you.When i asked which one was extra hot ,i was told feel them.Idont think so love which one is it then.The very rude male server then said"i done them both the same,no sorry or offer to replace.The most rudest people i have ever encountered in a service to the public industry And the latte seemed to be watered down, avoid like the plague
The staff in coffee shop are very welcoming polite managers are really helpful and friendly and very chatty
