Bidra med feedbackI ordered the Reuben Sandwich, which was fairly good but eating it was distracting because my meat had too many fatty pieces (which should have been trimmed for an enjoyable eating experience). The dressing on the sandwich was a bit lackluster, perhaps a bit more horseradish, grated onion or lemon juice was needed in the recip to elevate the flavor. My husband ordered the Scallops over noodles in a red curry sauce. The 3 scallops in the dish (only 3, for a $26 dish) were perfectly prepared and the curry sauce was exquisite. The start of the show was the Pommes frites (parmesan truffle fries). The tantalizing truffle flavor came through at exactly the right intensity.
This place is GOLDEN. Every dish served at our table today was absolutely delectable, our service was immaculate, and the atmosphere was incredibly welcoming. Between the three of us dining, we had their salmon, the duck breast, and mussels. Each individual plate was to. die. for. Anytime we’re in Asheville again, we will be coming back to this bistro.
We are local and dined here for dinner for the first time. We regret that we didn’t find this hidden gem sooner. This is fine dining with a relaxed vibe. My partner had the bolognese and I had duck, and we shared the celery salad; the food was excellent. The menu is one focused page of well thought out dishes. The wine list is also carefully chosen and easily pairs with any of the meals. (They also have a full bar with cocktails and beer. You will walk into a charming courtyard to enter the restaurant with outdoor and indoor dining options. You need to call for reservations (old school as they keep their space small and personal which is much like we experience when we dine abroad. The chef was on the floor for dinner, waiting tables, seating, and helping in the front of the house. Josh was very welcoming in all ways. Our server, Eli, was helpful and timely. Much like the dining atmosphere abroad, we never felt rushed (as some US dining experiences . We will be back. For those who need wheelchair or walker access, it seems like this can be accommodated. There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant with a limited number of spots. If you can’t find a spot, there is a parking garage nearby. This is also family friendly with a small lawn next to the outdoor dining if younger children need to stretch their legs. There are a couple of outdoor benches as well across from the outdoor dining area.
The bolagnasa was delicious. Reasonable price, good selection, nice outdoor seating. The chef and is partner attentive and amiable.
My wife and I had an early dinner while wandering the neighborhood and not knowing anything about the restaurant. What a definite surprise! Service was attentive yet not overbearing. Very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. The food was exquisite! I had the duck and my wife had the trout special. Mussels appetizer in a light cauliflower curry broth were some of the best mussels I’ve eaten! Delicious and not overpriced for this level of food. I always like when the chef visits the table to check in. Definitely will be back.
