Bear's Smokehouse Barbecue - Asheville

I had a wonderful experience at this BBQ restaurant. I had no expectations, but left feeling satisfied and content. The atmosphere was fantastic, with an impressive outdoor space and even a designated area for parking dogs. I ordered the ribs and brisket, while my wife tried the poutine bear style, and all of the food was delicious. The bartender outside was extremely friendly. I would definitely return to this restaurant, even if I wasn't just passing through.

The potato salad was exceptional. The collard greens are top-notch, although vegetarians may want a heads up. The chicken was flavorful but a little dry. The service was very friendly. The smoked wings were some of the best I've ever had, rivaling even those in Kansas City. The ribs were decent, but slightly overcooked and not in the Memphis style as others have mentioned. The only reason I am deducting a star is because when I requested fatty brisket, they said they did not have any.

I had a delicious BBQ dinner at a fantastic location. We visited on a Monday night, so it wasn't very busy, but I can imagine it's a popular hangout spot. They offer plenty of tables, fire pits, and dart boards. Plus, the restaurant is very welcoming to dogs.

Bbq was cooked maybe a lil under with how tender the brisket wasnt and decently seasoned but nothing spectacular. Wait was quick and was relatively cheap for two people but I wouldnt go out of my way to try it again. Very cute atmosphere though and friendly staff.

Great BBQ! Very friendly and helpful staff. We had the brisket sandwich and the Mac&Cheese with burnt ends. Both excellent! The best mac and cheese I've had in years! Truly delicious. My wife was getting a little jealous over my raving about it!
