This is a simple restaurant serving well-cooked food in a homely style. We came here twice and recommended this to friends during our stay. Food was classic Italian. We really enjoyed the carbonara and steak with Rocket and Parmesan. Did not try the seafood so cannot comment on that. The waitress was particularly knowledgeable about the wine and gave a great recommendation.
We went here twice in as many days and experienced two sides of the coin. I suppose we just didn’t particularly like Roman cuisine, our bad and no fault of the restaurant. I’m sure it’s authentic but it didn’t suit our palate. For example the meatballs (starter) was quite bland and not served with not much sauce either. And the fried potato wedges weren’t really flavoursome. It was just bland. The Pizza might be traditional but has far too much dough and whilst the Quattro Fromaggio topping was very generous it was too much. We love Tiramisu and whilst it was served “creatively” it wasn’t the best we’ve had and at €6 each it was disappointing. The Service was very good and friendly. They had House wine by the litre and half litre which was passable. There is a cover charge which seems a throwback to yesteryear. I’ve never fully understood it plus you’re then expected to leave a gratuity! I appreciate that this vis commonplace in Sardinian restaurants. For those that like this style of cuisine it will be memorable. By comparison to other meals we had it also wasn’t amazing value. They work hard at being friendly which is to their credit. If you like this style of cuisine I’m sure you’ll love it!
