Terrible experience.. I start by the good points : the waiters are very professional, and the environnement is wonderful. Now about the food : nothing fresh, a club sandwich at more than 30€ made with low qualities ingredients, frozen French fries.. same for the seafood salad : awful. Then for the main dish the alle vongole were so oily, the clams were frozen with sand, served without the shell. Very poor taste, I don’t understand how is it possible to propose something so bad at those prices, furthermore there is a minimum charge per person of 100€. We are very disappointed of this experience in Cala di Volpe.
I’m a bit of a picky eater and Jonny (waiter) said just name anything and we will make it. I had them make several dishes that would be a challenge and everything turned out perfect! Can’t say enough how much we enjoyed this hotel and all it has to offer.
This restaurant is the worst in Sardinia for sure. First of all flies, one got into our salad. The staff is nice, but very unprofessional. Goat meat that we ordered simply is not chewable. Very overpriced. Don't go!
We were staying at the sister hotel of Cala di Volpe and were recommended to dine here by our concierge. We wish they would have told us to go hungry. The meal at Cala di Volpe is overwhelming. They serve you a 5 course dinner and each portion is tremendous. We just wish we had room to finish everything. Each course was better than the next. I started off with the shrimp appetizer which was amazing! I think they served 8 large shrimp in this appetizer portion. For my second course I had the pici pasta with seafood. They prepare the pasta table side. It was a great presentation. We were already full from our appetizers, but somehow we managed to eat the pasta since is was so delicious. For my main course I had the dorado fish special. It was outstanding. I had sautéed spinach as the side. I took pictures of all the courses because they were all beautifully presented. The service is unbelievable. They will accommodate most of your special requests no matter if it’s on the menu or not. We definitely asked for things that we thought they wouldn’t change on their menu, but much to our surprise they were able to make it happen. For dessert we all shared a selection of ice creams. Next time we eat at Cala di Volpe we know to go extremely hungry. The food is too good to leave over. It was an exceptional dining experience that shouldn’t be missed when in Sardinia.
