Ratskeller Saalfeld - Saalfeld/Saale

Pleasant atmosphere, delicious regional, traditional cuisine. A recommendation. PS: My daughter (3 years) played her toy horse. At the order she ordered grass-foot horse. After a few minutes the waitress comes and brings a small plate with a mint branch! Wow, well done!

General On the green Saalestrand is the medieval town of Saalfeld. They say it's the stone history of Thuringia. You still see the wealth and the importance of the past. On the beautiful market square are the hearty houses and walls. The town hall also houses the Ratskeller . The interiors and vaulted cellars radiate this old German peace and comfort in a very dense ambience. At sunny spring weather, the beautiful courtyard Hutkastengarten invites you to stay and eat. Service Routine, professional service. An attractively designed menu was handed over, but a beverage card was missing. The food The Thuringian cuisine is known for defense and heavy earth. The menu now attempts to compensate for the success of modern and traditional cuisine. The rind was offered by Bourgeois: filled with mustard, bacon, onion and cucumber, red wine sauce, Balsamico red cabbage, Thuringian Closs, Broccoli and almond splinter as (necessary) decoration. Read well, but it wasn't worth mentioning now. Good, solid home cooking. The ambience I only once looked into the very dense interiors. The courtyard is modern, somewhat sober contrast to the other ambience. A bit disturbing was the sound of an air conditioning system. Cleanliness

This restaurant is located directly on the marketplace and has character when you look at the building. The ambience also shows what gives the cosiness a certain flair. There is also a terrace in the courtyard where you can sit outside in beautiful weather. We were kindly greeted by the staff and as we were a funny team of several people, our joyfulness jumped to the service. The menu offers typical regional dishes. Everything was beautifully dressed on the plates and tastefully also very good. We felt very well and come when we make a visit to Saalfeld on the next occasion.

I always want to visit the ratskeller in saalfeld. this time I was present with my grandfather and he liked it very much. the friendly and professional service that lets the guests from the drink request to dessert any desire out of the eyes is again a standard of the rat cellar. tout c’est très bien! eating both the salmon trout and the hall fields of black and white roasting were a pleasure. the recommended white wine area and the regional beer were excellent for food. then there was another espresso benissimo! the ambiente who is looking for a historical restaurant in the center of saalfeld is here. the Renaissance style of the Rathaus is well received in the rooms. cleanliness there is nothing to complain about here.

New restaurant having been only open some weeks under the new chef. This restaurant was highly recommended by some friends who had eaten here recently and I was not disappointed the food was very well cooked. There was no rush at all by the staff. Definitely will return on my next visit
